Angela founded Charley Bear Productions with a vision to create a shift in perspective, leading to social change, by telling unique & diverse stories showcasing women in front of and behind the camera. Through Charley Bear, Angela wrote, produced, and starred in 2018 Live Action Oscar Contender, Without Grace, opposite Emmy Winner Ann Dowd and Hollywood veteran John Doman. Angela portrays the title character, Grace, a woman coping with bipolar disorder via substance misuse, with heartfelt vulnerability. The film released on Amazon after a successful charitable fundraiser for NAMI.
Angela’s charitable work extends to volunteering with W2W, an organization focused on mentoring inner city kids out in nature to teach them leadership and self-confidence. She’s also an annual state judge and mentor for Directing Change, a mental health centered program for teens providing peer support via the creation of public service films.
Notably, Angela teamed up with the glowmedia project to write, direct, and produce Unimaginable, a short documentary on the effect of COVID on teen mental health, which premiered at the Oscar Qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival. Their partnership has expanded to include a PSA for teens to use art as a positive coping tool, supported by MTV, iHeartMedia, and PBS Socal and a film on suicide prevention, There Can Be Light, which world premiered at the Oscar Qualifying Hollyshorts Film Festival.
